Home Sweet Home

What this really should say is home sweet home improvements.

This is a play by play of our front porch facelift:

This picture is actually from the listing when we bought it a few years ago...although I sure wish that was my little fishing boat! ^^^  (It shows the old cheapo, black roof that bit the dust in three months flat!)

Here is a pic of my hubby the first time my mom (she was our realtor) took him to see the house. He was pretty excited..and cold. ;) Brr. Ps: I am NOT friends with the snow. I could live without seeing a single drop of it. Ever. ...and it's buddy ice.

Here is a good close up of the old posts. Or as I liked to call them "the 90's porch sticks" *yuck*

This storm door was eventually replaced with a white door and I sprayed my wicker chairs to match.

The summer before last we put up new chunky, rustic posts and built shutters! Yay!

Here is my sweet fella staining away...

Here is a good look at my pretty, crisp, white chairs. So charming ;)

It also shows our beautiful new chocolate brown shingles. (which btw replaced my Disney World trip one summer...NOT cool.)

Ehhh-hmmm I don't suppose you noticed my amazing green thumb now did ya? Yeah about that...I really don't have one. Yet. That is on my list of things to master...so far, not so good.

Oh and Go Vols!!!

This is a nice close up-taken this fall. Such a beautiful day.

My Favorite Place

The kitchen makeover ...

I went an entire summer without a sink.. It was crazy. Washing dishes in the bathtub = no fun. ^^^

Added an accent cabinet where the fridge was ^^^

We had molding added to the cabinets (putting up molding is over my ability.....the molding was the one time I had to step back and pay someone else to do it!)

Today I finally started painting the molding :))

ALL DONE!

ALL DONE!!

Kitchen Table/Coat Rack Makeover

No it's not really a coat rack. It's a small table.. but we never sit at it, we never eat at it, and I always throw my coats over it.... So, you get the idea.

lt may be the loneliest, unused table that has ever lived, but now it is a very charming, red, distressed, unused table. :)

All done :)

The Garden Flag Extravaganza

"Now, today's episode of 'Fun with Flags' is not fun. But it is important: Flags. You gotta know how to hold 'em, you gotta know how to fold 'em."
-Sheldon "The Big Bang Theory"

That really has nothing to do with the garden flags that I make, but who doesn't love The Big Bang Theory? Sheldon is my fav. :)

I must say that my garden flags are the biggest hit of ALL of my crafting adventures!

The credit is really due to my friend Marg. She loves when I call her that. Ok...well maybe she doesn't, but it's really fun anyway. So, one day after I finished her manicure, Margaret mentioned to me that she was going to buy this hand painted chevron burlap flag from Etsy for $20. Naturally I wanted to see what it was all about so I took a little peek and cringed!

Ahh! Why do people sell things that they know are half done?? It made me mad that the flag wasn't centered and the letter in the middle looked like my 2 year old niece painted it. So of course I insisted that she let me try...and for cheaper.

So I give her credit for starting the garden flag extravaganza.

Thanks Marg ;)

Last spring is when it all came about.. and from April to December I made and sold over 100  garden flags! Pretty amazing right? I think so!! Such a blessing :)

So not only do I say thanks to the gal who started it all, but thank you to the wonderful people who purchased my little garden flag creations! Yall are wonderful.
