The Painted Plate Dilemma

The hand painted plate is for looking, not using...

Long lives the struggle with the painted plate. Generally I try to be specific that the painted plates that I do are for display on your kitchen hutch or decoration on your mantel, yet there is always someone who wants to use it as an actual plate...and I get it, I do. You spent $25 dollars on one plate and you want to get the very best possible use out of it.

However, I do not want my friends and family to be chemically poisoned by the paint I use. Fair enough right? :)

Annnd if I am being honest.. there is a teeny, tiny selfish part of me that thinks, "OMGah I spent hours painting that thing and you wanna scrape a fork across it?? Ahh...just stab me in  the heart with the fork for pete's sake!"

Haha! Dramatic enough for you? There is plenty more where that came from... Just ask Spence. ;)

So again I beg you, if you want a painted plate from yours truly, then I would be honored to do it, but please don't torture me. I beg, really.

Here are some of the different plates that I have painted over the years. Some are customized, some are sports related, some are holiday themed, etc...
